okay okay okay. 1 plus hour on the Internet doing stupid wasting time things.

Have to go.

Go do work.
Go do work.
Go do work.

I hope I stay true to it and not procrastinate.

Vesak's Day tmr! No school. WHAM BAM. Thank you. I love no-school days. Am I tired of school? No, I'd better not be. I want my piece of paper, enter my highly competitve course and maybe one day I'll be Ian Wright. *dreams*

Gonna swim since it's no-school-day tmr. I still dislike jogging. I jogged 1.6km yesterday and I hated it. I guess water is my thing.

I need to study!

okok bye bye.

I've been rather tired these days.

Moving house was definately not a one-day affair.
Bags everywhere, I have yet to unpack many of them.

It seems that someone wants the honour to be included in my entry today.

It's really weird that I'm currently listening to the song 'I'll stand by you' on radio and here I have someone 'slamming' me. Haha.

If I'm not wrong, this unknown person 'slammed' me last year too. Perhaps one of my ex-classmates last year perhaps? No finger pointing really, and I bear no grudges.

If that's really the case, I thank this person! Really, thank you! For taking your time to visit my blog quite often and read my entries, then proceed telling me where I've gone wrong. It's like customers who bother to provide feedback so that service can be improved. However, if the customers complain incessantly, then the service must be really sucky! I know my attitude can be rather sucky too (Hey, people do have bad hair days right? My bad hair days are like everyday, I really dislike my hair.) so I sincerely welcome this person to know me better face-to-face because from my gut feeling (I trust it!) tells me that this person does not know me very well. I believe that everyone has at least one good point so I am very sure you will like at least a point about me --- whether it's my ugly teeth when I smile or my whatever. Haha.

I used to have this sec sch friend that would tell me in my face that I'm blah blah blah and I really appreciated it whenever she told me the truth. But because she's very sensitive, I have to take extra caution to tell her where she had gone wrong and encourage her whenever she tells me things. Everything takes time!

If you think carefully about yourself (yeah you, reading this), how many friends tell you straight which aspects of yourself you should improve on? Sure, you recollect your wonderful memories, be it shopping, movies, parties etc. with friends but only (fill in the blanks) friends make you want to be a better person.

I'm not saying this unknown person is a good friend whatsoever, this person is more like just someone who just 'knows' me, that's all. Again, my gut feeling.

If the unknown poster's purpose is to create bad impressions and warn people not to trust me, then it's really up to the people if they wanna trust me. Trust does not come easy, it needs to be cultivated over time. If they choose not to, so be it. I don't like forcing people.

Thank goodness for my optimism and viewing the glass half full? Haha.

Like I said, I won't attack the unknown or defend myself. Anger is never pleasant and it exercises many facial muscles which lead to frowns etc. Also, as I'd posted... do you not sin?
I bet everyone sins.

If everyone avoids a person due to his/her sins, then everyone should just avoid one another.

Lastly, survival in this dog-eat-dog world and past bullying experiences have made me grown stronger over the last decade which made me stand up for myself and not get taken advantage of. To unknown, if you know this, you must be someone who know me very well. Step up and give me a hug! If you aren't and think this is disgusting, then I apologise if I've offended you (a gazillion times huh?).

oh, I've to answer nature's call now. It's very important.
Please excuse me, sorry!

:)

Wednesday's impromptu speech wasn't that bad after all!
I feared that I would stutter and screw the entire thing up.
I was lucky number 2. Har har har. Maybe that was a good thing.
When I was called, I was like,'oh shit! My turn? so fast?!'

Tomorrow is another presentation, this time for project.
Surprisingly, I don't get those jitters anymore! hmm... :D

Another surprise... my future cousin-in-law is not an ang moh!
He is Chinese. It's just that his mum got divorced and married an ang moh,
hence his English surname. It's weird lol. You're Chinese but you have an ang moh surname.
I can't wait to see how he is like.

Saturday will be a long day but I think I will enjoy it.
Early morning starts with the traditional tea ceremony, followed by church, then DINNER.
DINNER!!! hahaha :D

Hectic week...

When someone is after your life, with a gun in his hand, take a metal pole and distract him from afar. Prison break 2. ok this is so random.

I am very random.

NIGHT.

Monday.

Tired and sleepy.

Long day, but DEFINATELY a fruitful one.

Went out with project mates after school... the 5 hours were damn bloody worth it.

This week is crazy. Again, I look forward to the weekend... this Saturday!!!
My cousin is getting married! Woohoo! Long time since I attended a wedding dinner.
I love attending wedding dinners! YUMMY food... and of course, the beautiful bride and groom and... nice hotel! Haha. She is getting married to an ang moh. YES?! haha I don't have any ang moh relatives... wait I do... another cousin is of mixed asian-australian parentage. Haha. Another ang bao to be received next Chinese New Year! :D It's surprising that her parents allowed her to get married to an ang moh, cos they're traditional.

mmmmm........

hahahahahahahahaha.

:D

I WANNA SLEEP!!!

I will, after this entry.

Friday was CCN DAY! (Something care network day, lol)
Basically, a campus carnival held to raise funds for the needy students in school.
I participated in it during my 2 years of school... by being a customer. Hahaha.
But this year was definately an enjoyable one.

Spent $6 on food. I had only that amount of cash in my wallet. Haha.
Helped my friends play some balloon archery game and won some prizes for them, which I did for fun. I had the 2nd highest score...bursting 5 balloons in the entire day so I was called to challenge the top scorer. Winner gets Ipod shuffle. I WANT IT! My damn mp3 player was spoilt months back and I haven't plugged into it since. Pathetic.

Didn't win. Got a bag instead. Haha. Not too bad lah. The loss was what I thought as a blessing in disguise, somehow. Can you imagine if my friends wanted me to sell the ipod shuffle and split the $? That was just a thought of mine alright. Then again, I set the record myself! Anyhow, if they wanna split the bag by means like ripping it apart, I welcome them to do so. :)

Watched the business arena at the LT and some aspects of it were kinda controversial. Nevertheless, the peeps' first attempt of organising this event should be applauded. It's gonna be a yearly affair huh? Should I shudder or rejoice? lol.

Saturday... WALK WALK WALK. Legs were damn tired. BARGAIN. THICK SKIN. BE DARING. Don't care. PERSPIRE. WHATEVER. Haha. That's just me...doing it all for next week's presentation and $. Flash your white teeth.

I wasn't that productive for the later part of the day. Sigh. SUNDAY = work work work! (hopefully it's put into action) AND BBQ! Haha. New neighbour's invitation. I look forward to the food, not the smoke *cough cough*.

I only look forward to weekends for this entire semester. In fact, no-school days are the best.

Sleep is important, guten nacht!
zzzzzz

"A sleepy person is a grumpy person... that's me!"

Aggy, you need to be contented with what you do!

Apparently, I'm never satisfied with what I do.
I don't know why, it's like it is never enough.
Until I reach my limit perhaps?
The thing is, I don't know my limit.
Ha.

Ever since a new school year started, the only thing I'm always excited about is...
THE WEEKEND.

Not that I have damn bloody exciting programmes going on, the weekend just mean
No School. YES.

Gonna change part of the blog layout. I can't help but dislike one part of it.
I trust my intuition.

Will be moving house soon. Gah gah gah.
I'm unsure if I should loathe or anticipate it.

You know, sometimes if people just keep quiet and not talk...
appreciate the silence!
I don't feel weird anymore when conversation with someone just stops for a while.
We're not talking robots! Just take a break and enjoy the nonchalant atmosphere, I guess.

:P

I feel like I'm wasting precious time. This is a vicious cycle for me. It never seeks to end, in my lifetime that is.

oh, great.

SPIDEY tmr after school! YEY.

Apel class is cancelled, I've not watched a movie since Nada sou sou, I need to unwind...
appropriate time for a movie!

Be contented... be contented.

:D

I'm a lost sheep,

wandering on a lust green plain.

Beautiful flowers, nice breeze, friendly sunlight...

in midst of all confusion.

A goal I see but

I don't know. Too many hills perhaps.

Day by day, my life goes wasted.

Don't get me wrong, ain't pessimistic.

It's bad when you lie to reality.

Mid-life crisis? Struggle.

When everyone looks at your faults and nothing good,

it's humane to feel discouraged.

Drown in the sounds of music,

and...... I can't help but keep searching for something,

I don't even know what it is. Hmm.

Haha.

Fantasy.

I dislike my blog layout, suddenly.

And...

I feel tired. I hate Mondays. Long school day yucks.

Tired.

Can't wait for the end of semester... holidays.

Please Lord, help me through the journey. Amen.

Which Side Do You Use?

You responded as a right brained person to 16 questions, and you responded as a left brained person to 2 questions. According to the Hemispheric Dominance test, you use your right brain the most. The summary briefly describes your dominance type. Remember, this only represents half of the picture. After you read the description, click on the link at the bottom of the page to find out how to use this information to improve your study strategies.

Some of the traits associated with the right side of the brain are listed in the table. Not all of the traits will apply to you. Remember, we use both side of our brain, but your right sides gets the most exercise.

Type of Cognitive Processing

Brief Description

HolisitcProcessing information from whole to part; sees the big picture first, not the details.
Random Processing information with out priority, jumps form one task to another.
Concrete Processes things that can be seen , or touched - real objects.
IntuitiveProcesses information based on whether or not it feels right know answer but not sure how it was derived.
NonverbalProcesses thought as illustrations.
Fantasy-Oriented Processes information with creativity; less focus on rules and regulations

Linear Vs. Holistic Processing

The left side of the brain processes information in a linear manner. It processes from part to whole. It takes pieces, lines them up, and arranges them in a logical order; then it draws conclusions. The right brain however, processes from whole to parts, holistically. It starts with the answer. It sees the big picture first, not the details. If you are right-brained, you may have difficulty following a lecture unless you are given the big picture first. That is why it is absolutely necessary for a right-brained person to read an assigned chapter or background information before a lecture or to survey a chapter before reading. If an instructor doesn't consistently give an overview before he or she begins a lecture, you may need to ask at the end of class what the next lecture will be and how you can prepare for it. If you are predominantly right-brained, you may also have trouble outlining (You've probably written many papers first and outlined them latter because an outline was required). You're the student who needs to know why you are doing something. Left-brained students would do well to exercise their right-brain in such a manner.

Sequential Vs. Random Processing

In addition to thinking in a linear manner, the left brain processes in sequence. The left brained person is a list maker. If you are left brained, you would enjoy making master schedules and and daily planning. You complete tasks in order and take pleasure in checking them off when they are accomplished. Likewise, learning things in sequence is relatively easy for you. For example, spelling involves sequencing - if you are left-brained, you are probability a good speller. The left brain is also at work in the linear and sequential processing of math and in following directions.

By, contrast, the approach of the right-brained student is random. If you are right-brained, you may flit from one tack to another. You will get just as much done, but perhaps without having addressed priorities. An assignment may be late or incomplete, not because you weren't working but because you were working on something else. You were ready to rebel when asked to make study schedules for the week. But because of the random nature of your dominant side, you must make lists, and you must make schedules. This may be your only hope for survival in college. You should also make a special effort to read directions. Oh yes, the mention of spelling makes you cringe. Use the dictionary, carry a Franklin speller, use the spell checker on your computer. Never turn in an assignment without proofing for spelling. Because the right side of the brain is color sensitive, you might try using colors to learn sequence, making the first step green, the second blue, the last red. Or you may want to "walk" a sequence, either by physically going from place to place or by imagining it. For the first step of the sequence, you might walk to the frond door; for the second, to the kitchen; for the third, to the den, etc. Or make Step One a certain place or thing in you dorm room or study place, and Step Two another. If you consistently use the same sequence, you will find that this strategy is transferable to many tasks involving sequence.

Symbolic Vs. Concrete Processing

The left brain has no trouble processing symbols. Many academic pursuits deal with symbols-such as letters, words, and mathematical notations. The left brained person tends to be comfortable with linguistic and mathematical endeavors. Left-brained students will probably just memorize vocabulary words or math formulas. The right brain, on the other hand, wants things to be concrete. The right brain person wants to see, feel, or touch the real object. Right brain students may have had trouble learning to read using phonics. They prefer to see words in context, to see how the formula works. To use your right brain, create opportunities for hands-on activities, use something real whenever possible. You may also want to draw out a math problem or illustrate your notes.

Logical Vs. Intuitive Processing

The left brain processes in a linear, sequential, logical manner. When you process on the left side, you use information piece by piece to solve a math problem or work out a science experiment. When you read and listen, you look for the pieces so that you can draw logical conclusions. If you process primarily on the right side of the brain, you use intuition. You may know the right answer to a math problem but not be sure how you got it. You may have to start with the answer and work backwards. On a quiz, you have a gut feeling as to which answers are correct, and you are usually right. In writing, it is the left brain that pays attention to mechanics such as spelling, agreement, and punctuation. But the right side pays attention to coherence and meaning; that is, your right brain tells you it "feels" right.

Verbal Vs. Nonverbal Processing

Left brain students have little trouble expressing themselves in words. Right brain students may know what they mean, but often have trouble finding the right words. The best illustration of this is to listen to people give directions. The left brain person will say something like "From here, go west three blocks and turn north on Vine Street. Go three or four miles and then turn east onto Broad Street." The right brain person will sound something like this: "Turn right (pointing right), by the church over there (pointing again). Then you will pass a McDonalds and a Walmart. At the next light, turn right toward the BP station." So how is this relevant to planning study strategies? Right brain students need to back up everything visually. If it's not written down, they probably won't remember it. And it would be even better for right brain students to illustrate it. They need to get into the habit of making a mental video of things as they hear or read them. Right brain students need to know that it may take them longer to write a paper and the paper may need more revision before it says what they want it to say. This means allowing extra time when a writing assignment is due.

Reality-Based Vs. Fantasy-Oriented Processing

The left side of the brain deals with things the way they are-with reality. When left brain students are affected by the environment, they usually adjust to it. Not so with right brain students. They try to change the environment! Left brain people want to know the rules and follow them. In fact, if there are no rules for situations, they will probably make up rules to follow! Left brain students know the consequences of not turning in papers on time or of failing a test. But right brain students are sometimes not aware that there is anything wrong. So, if you are right brain, make sure you constantly ask for feedback and reality checks. It's too late the day before finals to ask if you can do extra credit. Keep a careful record of your assignments and tests. Visit with your professor routinely. While this fantasy orientation may seem a disadvantage, in some cases it is an advantage. The right brain student is creative. In order to learn about the digestive system, you may decide to "become a piece of food! And since emotion is processed on the right side of the brain, you will probably remember well anything you become emotionally involved in as you are trying to learn.

These are just some of the differences that exist between the left and right hemispheres, but you can see a pattern. Because left brain strategies are the ones used most often in the classroom, right brain students sometimes feel inadequate. However, you now know that you can be flexible and adapt material to the right side of your brain. Likewise, those of you who are predominantly left brain know that it would be wise to use both sides of the brain and employ some right brain strategies.

Is it a good thing that I'm always exercising my right brain instead of my left? As much as I'm quite proud of it, it's somehow a disadvantage in school, as read above. :( I'm not surprised by the results though.
